This is our second visit to Blackburn Park, but the first time we actually stayed and played. Our first visit was during the middle of summer camps that are regularly scheduled throughout the summer and the playground was too crowded with much older kids that mine were too stunned to play.
So we visited on a Saturday morning (at the same time as a local Webster elementary incoming kindergarten meet and greet) and had a blast.
There are two playgrounds, one for the school age kids and one for the toddlers, a Fisher Price treehouse playset, a water table (you supply your own water) that sits in a gravel pit, two bucket swings and two sling seat swings and a see-saw.
As you can see from an above picture, there is a picnic table that sits under a large shade tree along with a drinking fountain. The flooring in the play area is all poured rubber, with the exception of the gravel pit which spills a bit out onto the rubber flooring.
There are multiple restrooms near the playground, with the closest being to the right of the playground when you are leaving it.
When you exit to the left from the playground, you will find the main pavilion which has two VERY large grills and a lot of seating. Nearby is the second restroom building that sits next to the tennis courts. The restrooms were very clean for being park bathrooms.
This main pavilion overlooks the lighted ballfield, while the second unlit ballfield sits on the backside of the park.
There is a trail that runs around much of the park and it was busy with walkers, bikers and runners.
Also, if you have the urge to play horseshoes look for the two courts near the main parking lot located off of Edgar Road.
We give this park a 5 graham cracker rating with all of its amenities. However, I do suggest checking the summer camp schedule ahead of your visit.
